Measles infections increasing: 251 children died

Measles infections are rising at an alarming rate in the country. Over the past few weeks, 251 children have died after being infected by this disease. Health experts have expressed deep concern about the situation.

The number of children showing symptoms of measles is increasing in hospitals across the country. Pediatric hospitals, in particular, are experiencing a surge in patient load. In many cases, there is a shortage of hospital beds.

According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services:

  • Since mid-March, more than 30,000 suspected cases have been identified
  • Several thousand cases have been confirmed as measles
  • A total of 251 children have died, including both confirmed and suspected cases

Doctors' Statements

Experts say:

  • Measles is a highly contagious viral disease
  • It spreads very quickly through coughing and sneezing
  • Without timely treatment, complications can worsen

According to them, the main causes of death include:

  • Lack of vaccination or incomplete immunization
  • Malnutrition and weakened immunity
  • Failure to properly isolate infected children

Risks and Complications

Experts warn that measles can lead to severe complications such as pneumonia, diarrhea, and respiratory distress, which can be fatal for children.

Current Situation

  • Pressure on hospitals is increasing
  • In many places, multiple patients are sharing a single bed
  • This is increasing the risk of further spread of infection

Experts' Recommendations

  • Ensure full vaccination for children
  • Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear
  • Keep infected children isolated from others
  • Provide nutritious food and proper care

Summary

  • Measles infections are rising rapidly
  • Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear
  • Keep infected children isolated from others
  • Provide nutritious food and proper care
